YOUR LOCAL GUIDE TO COOKSTOWN AND CO. TYRONE

Things To Do Near Cookstown

Whether you’re visiting for a weekend or just passing through Co. Tyrone, Cookstown and the surrounding area have far more to offer than you might expect. Here’s your complete local guide.

PERFECTLY PLACED

Cookstown, Co. Tyrone. Right in the Heart of It

Cookstown sits right in the centre of Northern Ireland, making it one of the best bases for exploring the region. It’s 48 miles from Belfast, close to the dramatic Sperrin Mountains, and on the doorstep of Lough Neagh, the largest freshwater lake in the British Isles.

The town itself is known for its impressive Main Street, officially one of the longest and widest in Northern Ireland, lined with independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs. And just outside the town boundary, you’ll find some of the most historically rich and naturally beautiful landscapes in the whole of the north.

If you’re staying at Lorraine’s Loft, you’re ideally placed to explore all of it and come back to a private hot tub at the end of the day.
